Cars, trucks and bad drivers oh my!

It's the Tuesday after the Memorial Day holiday and I think everyone is still techinically on vacation, or their brains are. I have never claimed to be the greatest driver but OMG I think all the bad drivers migrated to this area. They cannot drive in rain and god forbid it should snow an inch here you would think that a blizzard came. What cracks me up is that they consider this state part of the midwest except the weather is really nothing like where I grew up. Snow is nothing to me, I didn't grow up in Alaska but lets just say Minnesota is a neighbor.

WI borders on IL so they get a lot of Chicago drivers, man o man they don't care about anything. So the way people drive here is making me think they are just IL drivers in disguise. First off, for all you men out there that think driving those tiny little sports cars are cool....they aren't. I for one am not impressed by any man much less a middle age man driving a bmw sportster or a mazda s2000 it makes me think you are insecure and trying to make up for lack there of um....yeah you get the drift. Guys that drive souped up hondas with those annoying ground effects and mufflers are just plain STUPID! The only thing you are achieving with these things is giving me seizures every freaking stop light I have to be behind you. You don't look cool and frankly I can tell exactly how old you are. I don't care to race and quit trying to cut me off because you have tweaked your wind up car to the point that it could shoot somewhere like a rubber band.

Then you have the women, they are almost worse. Mini-van driving soccer moms or the high end "professionals" in their Lincoln Navigators and Ford Expeditions. Is there any reason to even have produced a truck this big?! How can anyone afford the gas is beyond me and that was before gas prices went through the roof. The women who typically drive these drive me insane, they think because they have this huge ass vehicle that they have the right to take up the whole road and do what ever you want oh and in winter just because you have four wheel drive doesn't mean you really have more traction and get to drive like a jackass. AND get off your cell phones for crying out loud!

Like I say I am not the best driver but I try to use etiquette at least, unless you piss me off. I try not to use my phone in the car and watch where I am going or let others in....I could go on and on but humanity is now in a different class thanks to technology. People, try to user common sense and decency, you are not the only one on the road. Put the phones down and do your makeup at home.

Just a PSA, thats all.

Friday Firsts

This is the first thing I have basically written on anything like this. I will try and stick to the basics at hand. I do love politics, sports, tv, etc... You name it I am usually interested in it. One of my true loves is always music. Music is the soundtrack to life and for me can change day to day minute to minute. Now some people say that if you don't stick to specific genres than whats the point? Or listening to whatever comes on the radio makes you a teeny bopper sell out. I believe not true. I have tons and tons of "classic" favorites like Fleetwood Mac, Clapton, Jackson Browne. Then there those that keep going and going despite age like the Stones, Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney and John Fogerty to them I say more power to you and rock on!

Now on to the real topic. I do listen to the radio a lot, some stations I have a tendency to stay away from just because they play the same ole crap everyday twenty times a day but every once in a while I stop on the dial and will hear something that I truly cannot get out of my head. This time it wasn't the radio it was The Tonight Show with Leno. Being the insomniac that I am I stayed up to watch the musical guest just because I had never heard of them. It was a group called Fort Minor, http://fortminor.com/site.php, now I think they have been around since at least last year thats when the cd came out, how I missed it I am not sure I am usually up to that kind of stuff. The group is composed some members of different bands like The Roots, John Legend, Common and Holly Brook and the main person is Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. I have this song "Where'd you go?" stuck in my head since Monday night. Went to the website and heard a few more songs, me likey and will probaly be buying the cd soon.

Ok so thats my music endorsement for today, more to follow and if you have not checked out any of the other bands listed above, by all means GO! Stop reading this and enjoy the sounds of all different cultures :)

Go, go be musically edumacated!
